Alongside today’s CES 2021 announcement of their new GeForce RTX 30 series parts for laptops, Nvidia has also released its next desktop GPU with ray tracing, RTX 3060. The company has decided to sell GeForce RTX 3060 at a price of $329 in the US, which is roughly around 29,500 INR in India.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 will target those gamers who are looking forward to upgrading from older GeForce GTX-series GPUs and get their first taste of ray-tracing effects. The xx60 series cards typically strike a solid balance between price and performance.
The company claims that the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 is still the single most popular model in the Steam Hardware Survey. It also expects to sell millions of GeForce RTX 3060 GPUs which will be relatively cheaper than the existing Nvidia’s RTX 30 series graphic cards including GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3070, RTX 3080, and RTX 3090.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 specifications
When it comes to specifications, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 is known to have 3,584 FP32 CUDA cores, 12GB of GDDR6 video memory, a boost clock speed of 1.78GHz, and a 192-bit memory interface. These specifications might sit a little below the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, but when we compare it to GTX 1060, it has twice the raster performance and 10x the ray-tracing performance.
By considering the aforementioned specifications, we foretell that Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 will target high-fidelity and high frame rate gaming at 1080p to 1440p screen resolutions. You could run most of the modern-day titles at 60FPS with all settings maxed out and at 120FPS with a few settings turned down in GPU hungry games.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 release date
Nvidia has revealed the official release date of GeForce RTX 3060 yet. According to Verge, this ray-tracing GPU is expected to release in February 2021. Whatever the release date would be, RTX 3060 is still worth the wait, as it will offer 10 times more ray-tracing performance than its predecessor.
P.S. Techanator will provide an update as soon as the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 release date gets confirmed.
Is 29,500 INR going to be the final price for Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 in India?
Answering that question would be quite difficult, as there isn’t an official Nvidia Founders Edition card that will sell at 29,500 INR. The company has partnered with other brands including Asus, Zotac, Gigabyte, MSI, Innovision 3D, Colorful, Palit, PNY, EVGA, and Gainward to sell GeForce RTX 3060 12GB cards with custom designs and coolers. These brands will determine their own pricing in India.
Not to mention, GST charges will be included. Supply constraints might push prices up – Nvidia GeForce RTX 30-series GPUs are hard to find and continue to be sold at high markups ever since their launch in India. According to Techanator, there is a 70% chance of seeing a hike in the price of Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 in India.
