Rockstar Games To Donate 5% Of In-game Revenue To COVID-19 Relief

Rockstar Games never fails to win the hearts of its fans when it comes to gaming. But today, it did something out of the blue! The company has decided to donate 5% of its online revenue to COVID-19 relief efforts.

That’s not what we say but Rockstar Games had made the announcement itself on Twitter! It says… from April 1, 5% of in-purchases in Grand Theft Auto Online & Red Dead Online will go towards coronavirus relief funds. With that said, they have also mentioned, “donation period will last until the end of May.” Here’s the tweet posted from the official Rockstar Games on April 1:

If you ask us about how it’s going to be work. Then let us tell you that a percentage of the amount of Rockstar’s in-game microtransactions, let’s say Shark Cards in GTA Online & Gold Bars in Red Dead Online will go towards helping aid for those people that are vastly affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

“These funds will be used to help local communities and businesses struggling with the impacts of COVID-19, both directly and by supporting some of the amazing organizations that are on the ground.”, the statement from Rockstar Game further reads.

As per our sources gathered from the previous week, Nintendo had decided to donate ten thousand respirator masks to the staff in Washington, US. Also, CD Projekt Red, a company well known for its Witcher series and upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077, had decided to lend a hand by donating about one million US dollars to fight COVID-19 in Poland.

And today, Rockstar Games followed the same steps in the gaming industry by doing the best it could have done in the fight against coronavirus. Well done Rockstar Games!
